"Waiting for patient transport"

(as a relative),

We were sent to Bristol Heart Centre from Cheltenham in the early hours of Thursday. After seeing the consultant an ambulance was ordered at 9. 30 am for the return journey. After waiting 4 hours the staff were told it was thought the transport was required for 10pm. At 2pm we were told the next available transport was a private ambulance at 5pm. This arrived after 6pm having just come in from Cardiff with a sick baby. All the while I could see other ambulances parked up outside the Heart Centre. It was not good for the patient having to monitor their BM's and eat accordingly ready for the journey.
