I was transferred from Rochdale Infirmary to Oldham Royal with terrific pains in my stomach with lots of wind. Over a 4 month period I lost nearly 4 stones.
After seeing a consultant at Oldham Royal, he was very helpful and suggested that what he thought i had was only the 2nd time in his career that he had seen it. He arranged for me to attend for a Barium X-Ray 4 weeks later.
This I did, but was told by the radiographer on duty that i was sent the "wrong" details and that I would have to make another appointment, but this time they would send me out some medication to clear my bowel.
Another 6 weeks went by, and 2 hours before my X-Ray I phoned the radiologist and told him that the medication did not work. He told me he would arrange another appointment.
Just shortly after I spoke to him another radiologist phoned me to tell me that she had spoken to my consultant, and my 1st appointment was the right one. She apologised & told me another appointment would be made for me.
That was 3 months ago. I have heard nothing since.
I complained to the PALS department and she was "horrified" at my treatment thus far. She told me not to worry, she would sort things out. That was over 6 weeks ago, again I have heard nothing.
Have I any faith in Pennine Acute? No.
