December 2015, found I had a cancerous lump on my tonsil stem, soft flesh at rear of mouth. All prepared except me. Operational and stay in ICUwas 36hrs roughly. On ward I was given really good care, by day I wanted all tubes etc out. , but it was explained as to why I couldn't, All in all I could go on for ages, but what I saw and the way I was treated was with great care and tremendous professionalism. I have read so many bad things, I just wanted to set the record straight. I couldn't pick one person on the ward for praise as they were all good.
There was a young doctor who everyday came to see me at the end of her shift to talk to me and then to say goodbye. It made each day just that little bit better. So I would like to say thank you ward B20, all the staff you made my stay better and on occasion funny. Xx
