I left the Walton centre about 5 days ago after brain surgery. The whole time I was there I felt that I was absolutely in the best place possible. The staff on Cairns ward were exceptional. Having transferred from another hospital. I can tell you it makes the world of difference to your emotional and physical well being. Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone. I seems a bit unfair to single one person out when everyone was great. However, on my first night back from surgery, I had a nurse caring for me and I will be forever thankful to them and the compassion and care they showed me, for the rest of my life.. I remeber lying in bed feeling very vulnerable and they soothed me and reassured me and treated me with such dignity, I'll never forget and always be grateful for those moments. I also want to thank the people in theatre and recovery, who managed to make me laugh and feel so safe and cared for. Walton is wonderful, every member of staff was a shining endorsement of the NHS. I feel blessed to have been under your excellent care. Thank you all.
"A wonderful place with the best staff"
