I went in for elective Total Knee Replacement on the 23/02/2015. From entering the Admissions Lounge that morning I was put totally at ease. The staff were very helpful, and explained all that would be happening to me. I met with the anaethsetist, who went through my proceedure, then the surgeon. A short wait, then I walked to the theatre. I had a spinal block with sedation, and can remember clearly being wheeled into recovery after. Never once did I feel alone, I was chatted to and every check explained to me. Finally I was ready to be transferred onto Quex Ward. A lovely unit of 4 bays with 4 beds in a bay. They were bright and fresh looking.. The staff were tremendous, even if I tried very hard I couldn't find anything to complain about. All of the staff were cheerful, helpful, and kind. My stay was for 6 days, and I enjoyed every minute of it. They were always asking if I was in pain ( which I often was - but that was only to be expected after surgery) Thank you all....
