"Laparoscopic Diagnosis- Endometriosis"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Recently had an operation at Pinderfields,, was on Ward 40, and just wanted to say what wonderful staff. The nurse who cared for me from the very beginning was wonderful. I'm a fully veiled muslim woman, and she made me feel very comfortable,, keeping me up dated, helping me with everything and showed me genuine care.. All the nurses were lovely and softly spoken with me. Im 20 and was quite nervous about going for my second operation on my own. Very friendly staff. Held my hand as I had the anesthetic. When I came round I had a lovely male nurse who was very sweet to me and told me what had happened during the op, they were also very patient with me as I felt quite queasy after coming round from the op. I was very much looked after. I was made to feel very welcome,, and even though I was asking questions and probably talking a lot of nonsense after the anesthetic, they patiently answered all my questions. The nurses truely are a credit to the NHS. Too often "nurses" can get overlooked but they made my day stay pleasurable. The surgeons and drs were lovely. I spoke to one of the drs who was going into the theatre aswel and she ellayed all my fears. Even though i was very nervous she made me feel at ease. Even after my op she came to see me and explained everything they had done and found. I have to go in for a bigger operation again but im very happy with the level of care from all of the people i saw.. I can't fault my stay at all. Ward 40 staff looked after me very well and helped in every way possible. I definately would recommend having surgery at Pinderfields to anyone who needs surgery, it was clean, and the staff are well mannered, you will definately be made to feel comfortable and not like your an inconvenience. Thank you so much Ward 40 staff for making me feel comfortable. I could writelots more about this ward but I would go on forever. Xx

Thank you for your posting and your very kind words about your experience and our team on gate 40. We do try very hard to provide individualised care which puts patients at their ease as we know that coming for surgery is extremely stressful. It is very gratifying when the efforts of the team are so appreciated. Thank you again; we hope you enjoy a speedy, uneventful recovery and a happy and peaceful 2015.
