"Made me feel like I was an inconvenience"

About: Queen's Hospital, Burton Upon Trent / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Some months ago, I attended the clinic appointment about a suspicious mole like growth on my face. The appointment had been arranged through my GP. I turned up in advance of my appointment, which was for 9am, and was greeted by this person. They were rude from the outset and made me feel like I was an inconvenience compounded by the fact that I am in my advancing years, or "you're old and will get things like this. " They continued to state that I should leave the mole like growth on my face and not worry about it because it would leave a scar if he removed it. I was prepared to take that risk and asked to remove it at that appointment. Again, they seemed really put out and inconvenienced to do such a job! I'm glad I had it removed when I asked because I received a letter some weeks later telling me it was cancerous! Not surprisingly, in his letter, they gave contact detail should I need to get in contact with again......No fear of that! I will go to someone who treat you with dignity and compassion and not like 'another tick box' exercise for targets.
