My friend is 86 years old and sometimes ask me to collect a prescription from her local surgery, the Girton Surgery on Pepys Way.
When I went to do so recently, one staff member at the Pharmacy complained that my friend had a total of 13 different prescriptions or so. I should add that I had to collect only two at that time, so there was really not much work for the pharmacist to do. Her manner bordered on rudeness.
Another time I went to collect an empty specimen bottle for my friend, who had been told she needed to submit a urine sample. When I asked if I could have two or three bottles (to have some in reserve), a different clerk told me in a rather rude and inconsiderate fashion that I was asking too much and I could purchase specimen bottles at Boots. Consequently, I went away with just one.
I do not like being spoken to in this way. The staff I meet are often unpleasant and seem to dislike working there. Can't they be kind in speaking to people who have to visit the surgery?
