"Vascular studies referral"

I was accepted for varicose vein treatment a few months ago. Since then I haven't heard anything so have been contacting the hospital to ask whether or not my operation date had been made - as my consultant told me it would be around October time. I have been passed from pillar to post, nobody has an answer, I get promised that people will return my call, and they never do. I am in a great deal of pain and it has taken nearly a year to get this operation granted, so I can't believe that I'm now having to chase the hospital just to give me a simple answer. All I want to know is if my appointment has been made, and if so, when for! As of today, my calls have still not been returned. To make matters worse, as the department shuts at 4pm, things are even more difficult as by the time I've finished work, everyone has gone home. Not good enough.
