"Pleased with care during admission to A&E and Ward 5"

About: North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the resus room in A&E with a suspected stroke. The first responders were fantastic, including the 999 operator and ensured I got to hospital quickly.

A doctor and team were waiting for me. I received excellent care including a CT scan. I was then transferred to Ward 5 under the care of the stroke team. Sr Abrahams and her staff were fantastic. They were professional and caring. I felt completely confident in their care. I also received excellent care from the OT and physio. The CT was clear and my symptoms improved. I was diagnosed with a recurrence of hemiplegic migraine and referred back to the neurologist. I wish to thank all the staff involved for reassuring and caring for me at such a frightening and stressful time.
