"Unhappy with daughter's care at A & E"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter received a crushing bite injury to her thumb from a horse, this injury cut the skin.

The nurse on shouting her name after X-ray asked how she could help. I explained my daughter had had an X-ray because a horse had bitten her. She proceeded to look at X-ray for all of 2 seconds asked if my daughter could bend her finger and touch her little finger, which she could with a lot of difficulty. Then told her it would be fine in ten days.

At no point was wound cleaned or a tetanus injection mentioned, which I find disgusting. This was an animal bite which had broken the skin.

I will be taking my daughter to her own gp for advice.
