"My experience of Park House"

About: Manchester Mental Health And Social Care Trust

(as the patient),

I was recently a "CLIENT" at the park house unit. For someone feeling vulnerable and unwell I feel being forgotten about for over 1hr 45mins is totally unacceptable. My perception of the staff is that they see you as a number on a list. The numbers must be reduced, so a quick turnaround is essential. In my opinion, they have muddled through my diagnosis from the start, to which they still haven't come to a conclusion.

I have attended countless appointments of which I have never had consistency with the Doctors I've seen. I have had to repeat time after time the very long story at each appointment. The care staff seem to work under the premise "No news is good news" - not once was I followed up by these people.

During my stay, the department seemed very sloppily run and numerous staff could be seen standing around wasting time or spending time filling kettles & chatting. I've also overheard confidential information being relayed to both doctors and support staff . This I've witnessed for myself during the excessive waiting times I've experienced.

I have since withdrawn from what I feel is an appalling service.
