"vnus surgury and aftercare"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Iwas not sure at first what to expect. Pre-op info was great but afterwards nobody seemed to know what was to happen. I was in some discomfort but was expecting that. I am self employed and need to work. I was asking questions and everything seemed to be ok after a week. I wrong I was. Nobody had told me how much pain I was to suffer. I rang the hospital and was put through to the ward, they put me through to the surgeons secretary who toldme to go to my GP. I explained that I was told to ring the hospital. No-one new what to do. I asked to speak to the surgeon who did ring me very quickly and was told everything was expected. Pity I was not informed of that. 2 weeks on I am in agony. I have had to cosult a surgeon on the internet to find out that all these bumps in my leg are normal. All the soreness is expected as the scar tissue increases and that this is likely to continue while Im working for the next few weeks. This cotrary to what I was told . I have had operations in the past and the same thing happened then. Nobody seems to care afterwards and nobody wants to. What a let down pinderfields after being so good on the day of the operation. John Binns-Hall. PS the consultant and his staff were wonderful . Shame about the aftercare.
