In June my normally fit and healthy father - who is in his 80s - took a stroke. The neighbours were very quick to realise what was happening and called the ambulance. He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital stroke ward and then to Queen Elizabeth in Glasgow for treatment .
We were not expecting much , being fit enough to go home we hoped , however he made a full recovery. No one can believe how well he is after seeing him when not well, he is back to doing everything he did before- except driving which he's not been signed off for yet , much to his disappointment.
The care and treatment he and Mum received from everyone from the ambulance service to the hospital was excellent both in treatment and explaining what was happening to the family.
We are so thankful that they were able to give him such a good outcome and they were so happy in how well he responded to the treatment.
"Father's excellent stroke treatment"
