Our baby developed pneumonia and we were recently admitted to Bramble Ward for 9 days as our baby required oxygen. It was a difficult time for me and my partner. However, the ward staff were excellent, showing compassion and empathy when we had low moments. They were supportive and always made sure our baby was cared for and also myself as mom staying with our baby. I was provided toast, offered drinks and they would provide boiling water and a clean steriliser each day for our baby's bottles. The Play team were also fantastic. Providing toys and entertainment for our baby towards the end of their recovery when he was more alert and active.
As our baby took a while to recover, they kindly offered as a one off a parent cubicle for myself to get some rest in the day as I was up through the nights supporting my baby with their oxygen. I think this should be highly commended as it shows the ward going above and beyond and really helped me during one of my lowest moments.
Everyone on the ward was caring and patient and they made you feel welcome and that no request was inconvenient (boiling water) to make milk even though I could see the nursing staff were busy.
Thank you to the whole of Bramble Ward nurses for supporting our son's recovery.
I will not forget the high quality care and compassion that was shown to my family.
"The ward staff were excellent"
