As a disabled patient, in remission from kidney cancer I use the toilet more than most.
When attending the QEUH on other serious health related matters I was trying to access the ground floor entrance toilets and what I found was:1. Accessible/gender neutral toilet out of order
2. Male toilets had
Cubicle 1. out of order
Cubicle 2. with no working lock
Cubicle 3. wide open with NO door on it what so ever.
I think this is beyond disgraceful in Scotland so called flag ship teaching hospital.
I brought this to the attention of the reception staff to be told they had reported this many times with no action being taken and encouraged me to use the QR code to highlight the situation on here, in an attempt to urge on the necessary repairs, this is a sad state of affairs.
I was directed to other facilities some distance away which I used but that doesn’t fix the problem of serviceable toilets close to the entrance that are more accessible to use before going for tests and examinations.
Stress like this on basic matters is the last thing you need when living with health uncertainty and made my wellbeing and mood very low throughout the visit.
