I was placed into this team during a crisis episode in 2025. Every engagement I had raised further questions around the effectiveness of the care provided and created more issues for me until I requested a new care team.
I was provided with conflicting information, false information and a lack of medical support. I was offered some options of more intensive crisis support away from home and therapy I have already had, but as my needs are complex I couldn’t agree to this and for that reason. I was left to essentially resolve my issues on my own.
I was concerned about this happening to someone in a more vulnerable position than myself and raised the issue with PALS due to my concerns. Upon receiving the report, the documentation and information provided by the Home Treatment Team seemed protective of themselves and not the patient.
A combination of inaccuracies and untruths recorded on my medical records was sufficient enough for my legitimate concerns to be disregarded.
I am aware that I could challenge this further, but I don’t have the energy or capacity to do that, so I feel my only option now is to share my story with people potentially engaging with this service so that they know the risks involved. Major improvements are required.
