I was sent to ambulatory unit weeks ago from my GP. I had a flare up of diverticulitis, the staff took my bloods and I was informed I needed a blood transfusion.
This was all very prompt, after transfusion I was allowed home and the following Monday return for iron infusion, this avoided me going to A.& E and waiting hours in a very busy casualty were staff are under enormous pressure to keep patient care flowing.
My time in ambulatory causeway, Coleraine was fantastic, from when I walked in to the time I walked out to go home. All staff members were fantastic to me and all other people patients relatives.
I work in the ambulance service and believe these ambulatory units are the answer to seeing certain people and so taking some pressure off A.E. I thank the unit staff for there care over me and what a great insight for me to see the inside work of my colleagues who I am very proud 👏 of.
