"Sympathetic and kind treatment"

About: General practices in Lothian Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Surgical Observation Unit Western General Hospital / Emergency Surgical Admissions

(as the patient),

My GP saw me on the same day I called and referred for a direct admission to hospital as I was having severe abdominal pains. I attended the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where tests showed a fever and diverticulitis. They provided antibiotics, painkillers and care until I was transferred to the Western (ward 57).

I spent another night there until I was able to come off the IV antibiotics and take them in tablet form at home.
Every single person dealing with me from three different SNHS locations over 48 hours were absolutely brilliant. I couldn't have asked for more professional, sympathetic and kind treatment from everyone involved;

Thank you all so much.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback- I will pass on your kind words to our team.

I am so pleased that you felt well cared for during your stay in Ward 57. We are very aware that nobody wants to be in hospital and do our very best to make each admission as pleasant as possible for our patients. I hope you are recovering well and are back to full strength soon.

With best wishes,

Kathryn Cook
