My GP saw me on the same day I called and referred for a direct admission to hospital as I was having severe abdominal pains. I attended the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where tests showed a fever and diverticulitis. They provided antibiotics, painkillers and care until I was transferred to the Western (ward 57).
I spent another night there until I was able to come off the IV antibiotics and take them in tablet form at home. Every single person dealing with me from three different SNHS locations over 48 hours were absolutely brilliant. I couldn't have asked for more professional, sympathetic and kind treatment from everyone involved;Eyre Medical Practice (GP)Surgical Admissions Unit, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Emergency Surgical Admissions, Ward 57, Western General, Edinburgh Thank you all so much.
