In June this year whilst on holiday in Cornwall I sustained a broken and ankle and two breaks in my tibia. I was transferred home to Bideford and had surgery the next week in Barnstaple Hospital. Upon discharge I was referred to the community therapies team for physiotherapy at home.
This is when I met the lovely Lami. Her presence was so warm and comforting that I felt safe with her. Her weekly encouragement and support was second to none.
Even though I had a few set backs with an infection and allergic reaction to the internal sutures, Lami still called each week to check in.
I can honestly say that my recovery would have been harder if it wasn't for this lovely compassionate physiotherapist. She puts her all into the care of patients and takes the time to understand their wants, needs and preferences, all whilst allowing them to feel included in the decision making of their treatment.
Thank you Lami for your time and your support. I am now able to join in play with my nearly 5 years old and am living a somewhat more normal life since my accident.
