I was admitted with a small bowel obstruction. Due to other concerns an operation was too high risk and so was treated conservatively. From the moment I attended A&E through to my discharge the care I received was amazing. They sourced all equipment and services I required and made sure that I was informed at all stages of my care. The nursing staff were fantastic and nothing was ever too much for them. They were so kind and caring, and for people working in that environment, every one of them was smiling and had a good laugh and joke. All of this made such a difference to me, and I am sure speeded up my recovery. The staff work very hard and sometimes with little or no gratitude, but I will forever be grateful for their care and attention. Without them my stay could have been a very different one. Thank you to medical and nursing staff in A&E, ward 4, ward 1 and ITU, you are all amazing.
