"Given me so much hope and support going forward"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Community Stroke Team – South Notts

(as a service user),

My experience of the Community Stroke Team has been brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

I can't explain how much their involvement in my therapy after my stroke has given me hope that I can improve and start to be more independant.

I so look forward to visits from the team, Gavin has really encouraged me to push myself and increased my confidence in my mobility. Julie has visited regularly and is so lovely, not only to practise my exercises and mobility with her, but also feel she really takes an interest in me as person. We are both cat lovers and following the progress of her 'stray' cat and 6 kittens that followed, it has made every visit not just professional but a story to be continued.

I am sad I can't keep in touch with the team that has given me so much hope and support going forward.

Thank you!

Dear betash48,

Thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback.

We're absolutely delighted to hear that your experience with the Community Stroke Team has been so positive and meaningful. Your words are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do—to help people regain confidence, independence, and a sense of hope after life-changing events like a stroke.

Gavin, Julie, and the whole team will be truly touched to know the impact they've had on your journey. It’s clear that not only have they supported your recovery professionally, but they’ve also built a genuine connection with you- complete with shared stories, encouragement, and even a few furry tales!

While we understand it’s difficult to say goodbye, please know that your progress and kind words mean a great deal to us. We wish you continued strength, independence, and all the best in your recovery.

Thank you again for sharing your experience—it truly means the world to the team.

Kind Regards

Claire Lee
