I found out I had breast cancer in May. I was traumatised and shocked. From the moment I arrived at the Western General Hospital my treatment has been second to none.
My consultant and my support nurse have been amazing. When I had my operation the staff on the cancer ward at the Western General were so kind and compassionate. It was truly overwhelming.
I also had a port fitted at the x-ray department and from the minute I entered the team put me so at ease and relaxed me it was incredible how they turned a scary experience into an experience I enjoyed from the way they relaxed me with their choice of music and conversation.
I am now receiving chemotherapy and my nurse on the ward is so caring and lovely it means I’m not too intimidated going in for my treatment. I feel truly blessed, lucky and grateful for the NHS and all these amazing, kind compassionate people who are on the team.
The staff don’t get enough credit so I just wanted to come on here and thank them all from the bottom of my heart for all the amazing ways they have treated me, put me at ease, looked out for me and gone beyond the extra mile. I can’t thank them enough and I know I can get through this scary journey with a positive outcome knowing I have such a brilliant team of people behind me.
"My amazing treatment from staff"
