"I received exemplary care"

My hospital appointment took only 10 days to arrange, I was impressed. 1st time I had been in hospital so was anxious especially with such an intimate procedure to be done. From the minute I entered the dept I was met with friendliness & efficiency. The medics explained everything clearly and helped me greatly to feel there was nothing to be embarrassed about. A thorough examination was carried out sometimes a little uncomfortable but with gas and air at my disposal no problem at all. Once completed again everything was explained what would happen going forward (in my case nothing) and I was wheeled into the recovery room. There I enjoyed tea and toast (I had had to fast for 24 hours) and chatted to the staff. All in all I received exemplary care for which I am very grateful, NHS Fife Queen Margaret Hospital Endoscopy Unit should be congratulated on a terrific service.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit to the Regional Endoscopy Unit at QMH.

I was very pleased to hear that from the allocation of appointment right through to discharge you found the staff friendly and by keeping you informed gave you the reassurance to manage your procedure with a little help from the gas and air.

The tea and toast is always welcome after you have fasted for the 24 hours required and we do make the best tea and toast!

I am glad you recovered well and I will pass on all your kind words to all the staff.
