About: The Ulster Hospital / Paediatric Day Patient Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was admitted to UHD Craig ward- day patient area for ENT surgery.

From our arrival until we left, the care we received was excellent. We received a warm welcome from the nursing staff there, efficiently admitted and then proceeded to meet her consultant Mr Elsherif and the lovely anaesthetist Stephen who would be looking after her that day. Both were able to calm any anxieties and they thoroughly explained the process to us.

We were then called for her procedure and again from the portering staff to all the theatre staff they were excellent at keeping our anxieties at bay and were so friendly and kind to my 4 year old.

After the procedure and a period of time in recovery, we were taken back to the ward where we were well looked after by the nursing staff up until our discharge at 1730. I would like to personally thank Aoife, Rosie, Deborah, Sam, Emma and Gillian for their attentiveness and kindness shown to us- they are a true credit to their profession.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback about the care you and your daughter received when she was admitted for ENT surgery.

Coming in to hospital can be an anxious time for families and our priority is to put you at ease, reassure you and ensure you feel confident in the care you and your daughter receive.

I will ensure all the staff you have mentioned see this compliment, as it truly makes their day to know that they have provided compassionate care with a lasting impression on families.

I hope your daughter is recovering well and can enjoy the rest of the summer holidays.
