"I just have to admire the dedication and work"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My elderly Aunt was admitted via A&E. The staff could not have been better or more professional and caring. She has hearing problems and staff did all they could to make sure they communicated effectively with her (and me). She was also not quite herself but the nursing staff, doctors and health care assistants were great and understanding of her needs. Reception staff and nursing assistants were so helpful to me as I needed to wait in the main waiting area while she was getting some treatment and made sure I wasn’t forgotten about, and explained what was going to happen.

It was busy but there was a steady flow of people being triaged and I just have to admire the dedication and work staff were doing here; I don’t think just anyone can work in this kind of field, with people coming in very sick, in pain, distress, confusion and often fearful but needing help. Despite this staff were calm, gentle, patient and all the time getting the job done effectively. Alanna, Zeinab, Sinead and many others, sincerely thank you.

Dear Smith567

Thank you so much for your heartfelt message about the care your Aunt received during her recent visit to A&E. We are truly grateful that you took the time to share your experience.

It’s incredibly reassuring to hear that our staff provided such professional, compassionate, and respectful care — both to your Aunt and to you as her relative. We understand how disorienting and stressful a hospital visit can be, especially when someone is unwell and living with a hearing impairment. We’re pleased to know our team took extra care to communicate effectively and ensure you both felt informed and supported throughout.

Your kind words about the calm, patient and dedicated approach of staff — even under pressure — really resonate. It’s exactly the standard of care we strive to deliver, and we are especially grateful you mentioned Alanna, Zeinab, Sinead, and others by name. We will make sure your feedback reaches them directly and is shared with the wider team.

Thank you again for recognising the efforts of our staff. Your appreciation means a great deal and will be a real encouragement to the team.

Wishing your Aunt all the very best in her continued recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
