My elderly Aunt was admitted via A&E. The staff could not have been better or more professional and caring. She has hearing problems and staff did all they could to make sure they communicated effectively with her (and me). She was also not quite herself but the nursing staff, doctors and health care assistants were great and understanding of her needs. Reception staff and nursing assistants were so helpful to me as I needed to wait in the main waiting area while she was getting some treatment and made sure I wasn’t forgotten about, and explained what was going to happen.
It was busy but there was a steady flow of people being triaged and I just have to admire the dedication and work staff were doing here; I don’t think just anyone can work in this kind of field, with people coming in very sick, in pain, distress, confusion and often fearful but needing help. Despite this staff were calm, gentle, patient and all the time getting the job done effectively. Alanna, Zeinab, Sinead and many others, sincerely thank you.
