I was admitted to RAH ward 23 for an operation to have my ankle relocated and plates/pins inserted.
My operation went well.
My stay while in ward 23 was not great. Pain medication reduced without discussion. Leaving me in pain.
While being supported to use a bed pan while in bed as I was unable to transfer, I had to ask auxiliary staff for wipes to wash my hands.
Most nursing staff were fine. Though one particular nurse kept asking me - what's up with your face? Given I had a broken ankle and needed surgery and was experiencing a lot of pain, I thought it would have been obvious I was in pain. That wasn't being managed.
