My son was an in-patient on Austen Ward at Hollins Park, Winwick in July 22. I told them he was not ready to be discharged but they went ahead anyway. He was then re-admitted to Taylor Ward and then transferred to Austen Ward again
Two years laater he was taken to Macclesfield hospital in June 2024 and put in a cubicle in the A&E department for 7 days.
Same month he was admitted to BroadOak hospital and put in the psychiatric ward. Again, after being told he was no longer sectioned he impulsively discharged himself. Again, he was not ready. He is currently on remand.
Since May 2024 we called 999 and gave this list of symptoms: he’s paranoid, he thinks people are following him. He thinks he can read thoughts. He was verbally abusive. He said he has lost everything he loves. He can’t sleep. He had not been taking his meds properly for the last 6 months. He is manic. He is very tearful. 5 hours later the ambulance still hadn’t turned up so I rang them again. His friend rang them again a 3rd time 2 hours later. The Police called and did nothing.
He was also due to have a visit from crisis team but didn’t because they were arguing about whose area he was in.
"Discharged when not ready"
