I had an appointment in the Difficult Asthma service with Dr Butler at the City Hospital Respiratory Clinic.
Dr Butler discussed my symptoms and explained in detail the results of a Pulmonary Function test which I had undergone some weeks earlier. She then outlined the changes she was proposing to make to my existing medication and how these should relieve the coughing fits which were causing me so much discomfort.
I found the consultation with Dr Butler to be both relaxed and informative.
The proper way to use the inhaler which Dr Butler was prescribing was then expertly demonstrated by Nurse Stone.
All in all, I had a very pleasant and positive visit to the Respiratory Clinic in the City Hospital. The staff were very professional and kind .

As a team we really appreciate this excellent feedback and the time taken to acknowledge the high level of care you received whilst attending.
From a nursing perspective education in inhaler therapy is crucial for effective disease management, particularly for conditions like asthma. Proper education empowers patients to self-manage their condition, promoting adherence to treatment plans and improve quality of life. Education does not end when you leave the clinic. All staff are at the end of the telephone for support and re-education when needed so never hesitate to contact us.
