I was referred to AHC by my GP following 2 bouts of antibiotics for an infected toe. Elspeth was wonderful, explaining the options and then having a closer look and offering to carry out a procedure if I was in agreement. Her "bedside" (chair side) manner was brilliant, she was careful, mindful, checking on any pain threshold and put up with me babbling endlessly in order to distract myself.
She then very carefully dressed my toe, demonstrating and explaining what I needed to do to look after it.
I commented that I have had a pain in my other foot which had been initially diagnosed as a Mortons Neuroma but despite doing the exercises etc it was still troubling me. I'd had it x-rayed a few months previously which had shown up some signs of arthritis. She said she would see if her colleague was free to just look at it/talk to me. Fergus was equally as wonderful and very patient. He explained some exercises to do and I had a follow up appointment arranged to check my toe wound and to see if the pain in my foot had improved with targeted exercises.
I cannot fault the care and attention I have received from these two young professionals. Too often people are today "dissing" the NHS but I want to take this opportunity to sing it's praises. This is what we pay our taxes for - and believe me there is never enough to go around and it is incredible what is achieved with such meager sums - but when you come across such enthusiasm and dedication from the young staff today we need to give a shout out and say well done and than you. You do an amazing job.
