"Made me feel even worse about an appointment"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I arrived before my appointment time. A sign on the desk said it would be closed until 13:15 for lunch. It was 13:20. It also said if I failed to sign in then I might miss my appointment, but the curtain on the reception was pulled closed. I gently knocked and someone roughly pulled it back and quite rudely asked me to wait a minute.

When they eventually opened the window they were again extremely rude. It seemed I had disturbed them. 

I have quite severe health anxiety and was feeling extremely nervous. This did not help.

It’s just disappointing and is not the usual kindness and patience I’ve experienced at Treliske before. It made me feel even worse about an appointment I was already dreading.

Hello CH12, thank you for spending the time to post feedback from your recent dermatology visit, I apologise that you were made to feel anxious before even getting into the appointment, this is not the attitude that is expected or promoted at RCH. I will look into the issue and speak to the people concerned to ensure that neither you or any other patients are made to feel like this again. I wish you all the best for the future and hope this experience will not prevent you from attending our department or the hospital for appointments in the future.
