"Joined up working for my transgender daughter"

About: Udston Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

I have been bringing my transgender daughter (CB) to weekly sessions with Heather. CB was feeling a bit lost in the system due to government changes around medication etc.

But Heather has been amazing! She has focused on building trust with my daughter (who also has Autism). The resources Heather has used in her work with my daughter are tremendous (I didn't even know this kind of voice and physical presentation work was even possible).

I have watched in amazement as CB has developed a relationship with Heather and am so grateful for the resourceful activities Heather has sought out for CB. I can't praise the service enough, particularly because Heather has been working in collaboration with Michelle who also supports my daughter at the Udston clinic.

This kind of joined up working has given CB a feeling of being heard and valued and that is worth everything to a parent who was finding challenges at every turning point in her daughter's journey.

Dear Parent in need,

Thank you for sharing your experience in Udston Hospital.

I am delighted to hear that Michelle and Heather have a joined up approach in their work and that your daughter has developed a good relationship with Heather. This must make such a difference in her confidence and trust in Heather and knowing that she is respected and heard.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to both Heather and Michelle who I am sure will be delighted to hear your lovely feedback.

I wish your daughter all the best with her journey.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
