"Response to a 111 call"

About: Community Health and Primary Care Services / NHS Tayside GP Out of Hours Service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I had an allergic reaction to antibiotics and rang 111 during the evening. After a wee wait, I spoke to a very helpful lady on the Medications desk who asked lots of relevant questions about what had happened. She said she'd speak to a doctor who'd ring me back. I quickly got a call from the Dr who asked me if I could send pictures of the rash to her, and gave me the appropriate e-mail address to do so. After further discussion, she arranged for a prescription to be available for collection at the Out of Hours desk in A&E at Perth Royal Infirmary. Collected it about 10pm. Brilliant.

Dear EAMAC0

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience with Perth Out of Hours Service. I am pleased your photographs were reviewed quickly and you received the treatment for your rash from the Out of Hours department at PRI.

I hope your allergy is now improving after treatment and I will pass on your feedback to the team who work in the Perth OOH.

Kind Regards,
