"What amazing people work in our NHS"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My very elderly mother-in-law passed out and hit her head on the hardwood floor, causing a nasty gash, bleeding, etc. We dialled 999 and everyone - the telephone operator, the paramedic/ambulance staff, the nurses, doctors and others at the Royal Devon and Exeter Emergency Dept - were absolutely brilliant, turning what was an enormously painful and stressful experience for my MIL into a night that meant that she was more or less her normal self before we even left the hospital. What amazing people work in our NHS. Thank you all.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We’re so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law’s fall—it must have been an incredibly distressing experience for you all. We’re glad to hear she received the care and compassion she needed and that she was feeling more like herself so quickly. Your words will mean the world to the teams at the Royal Devon and Exeter Emergency Department, as well as the ambulance and call handling staff. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and for recognising the dedication of our NHS staff.
