My adult son collapsed and was taken to Altnagelvin hospital in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. His blood was going really high then really low and he would faint. The doctors and nurses were absolutely outstanding, however, they were under so much pressure in there and there seemed to be no beds for patients; after 3 days of waiting, we still didn't have a bed, people were sitting in chairs for days.
The doctors and nurses were trying so hard to get around to everyone but clearly they were short staffed and the hospital itself could not deal with the volume of patients. The staff deserve so much credit for all their hard work but they need more staff and a bigger hospital. I cannot thank them enough for their care.
