On Christmas Day noticed "floaters" in my right eye. By Boxing Day they were markedly worse.
As an retired nurse I knew this could be a detached retina which could ultimately cause blindness if not assessed .
Attended A and E. Was seen by nurse who did basic observations, I then saw the A and E Dr who consulted a more senior colleague for advice after a thorough examination of my eye. He then contacted the opthalmologist who was in the hospital.
She came to see me and diagnosed the problem which was Vitreous Detachment likely age related.
A harmless condition but also gave me advice if anything changed . All were very thorough and explained everything very well. The staff were all very polite including the reception staff, very caring and I was in and out in 4 hours.
I honestly could not fault my experience
