"Audiology appointment"

I was seen by Rosemary in outpatient audiology at the RVH today. Having been waiting for over a year on the waitlist I was feeling apprehensive that the appointment would be rushed, as this had happened for me at a previous audiology appointment as a teenager. Rosemary immediately put me at ease with her calm approach. I felt listened to and understood by her. She explained everything she was doing and took her time doing so.

It felt like a relief for someone to actually listen to and empathise with me as a younger patient with hearing loss. Rosemary is an excellent example of a healthcare professional and I would like to thank her for her care today.

Dear nithreasaigh

Thank you so much for your feedback and kind words about Rosemary. We are so glad that you were able to have an assessment that was suitable for you and that you did not feel rushed. I hope you are managing okay with your hearing presently.

It is so reassuring to staff when we can feedback so positively to them about their interactions with patients so thanks again for taking the time to contact us with your feedback. I will make sure she gets your feedback too.

Many thanks

Ruth
