Myself and my daughter have been an inpatient in the hospital and been to a few appointments over the last few weeks.
From this time a new girl I believe she hasn’t long started within the gastrostomy team within the children’s hospital, Andrea. She has taken to this new role amazingly! No question was unanswered, the teaching she provided was fabulous and the interaction she had with my child was something special! My child has special needs and this type of care does not go unnoticed and gives me great peace during a difficult time with her condition.
I would just like to wish her all the best on her progress as she steps into this role! She will be a true asset to this team, from the time and care she provided to me. Which helped reassure me this service is in fact not as bad as social media is making out. Well done Belfast Trust you are very lucky to have such amazing staff and support within this hospital. Hopefully this will reach her as I didn’t get to say goodbye when we got discharged, as Andrea had left supplies with my other half. Although we will see her during our next scheduled visit / if we have an unfortunate unexpected admission.
"Care and affection given to myself and my child"
