"Friendly and compassionate nurse"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Critical Care Unit

(as a relative),

Visiting my sister-in-law in the Adult Critical Care ward was always going to be daunting. She had just come out of an induced coma as a result of contracting sepsis.

Her nurse for the day was Annie and she was an excellent example of what a good nurse should be. She was kind, helpful, respectful and reassuring. My wife has mobility issues and Annie made sure she had a suitable chair.

However her main attribute was the way she cared for my sister-in-law always reassuring her of her steady and slow recovery and what is likely to happen next.

Dear Basil

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about the level of care and compassion provided to your sister-in-law and your wife during what must have been a very anxious and worrying time for you all.

I know that Anne and the Critical Care team will be so pleased to receive your lovely feedback.

I will make sure that this is shared with them.

With best wishes

Lynn McTavish
