Visiting my sister-in-law in the Adult Critical Care ward was always going to be daunting. She had just come out of an induced coma as a result of contracting sepsis.
Her nurse for the day was Annie and she was an excellent example of what a good nurse should be. She was kind, helpful, respectful and reassuring. My wife has mobility issues and Annie made sure she had a suitable chair.
However her main attribute was the way she cared for my sister-in-law always reassuring her of her steady and slow recovery and what is likely to happen next.
"Friendly and compassionate nurse"
