"Inverclyde Royal Hospital"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I suffered that initially was thought to be a Stroke.

At A&E I was treated promptly & with respect.

Fortunately turned out to be a problem with my inner ear.

I also have Cerebral Palsy & use a wheelchair & walking sticks.

I'd like to send a BIG thank you from the 999 call handlers, Paramedics, A&E team, Staff of J North & porters. EVERYONE!
I was REALLY impressed how they accommodated my existing CP, i.e putting my table on my good side & for their patience, giving me the extra time I needed for basic tasks. NOT once was I made to feel a burden.

There are too many people to thank, so if I have forgotten to mention you, I apologise.

Yes the NHS has it's issues, but given the resources they have to work with, I take my hat off.

People can be too quick to criticise, so I feel it's only fair to offer praise where it's due.

Thanks you, & keep up the excellent work.

Dear Dr Lecter,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am sorry to read about what happened to you, I imagine that must have been terrifying thinking that you were having a stroke. I do hope that you are feeling better now. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide and of couirse the work of our partners in the wider NHS - you have provided some beautiful feedback with some really encouraging examples of patient centred care.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews and call handler directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and of course your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
