I was referred to orthopaedics by my gp. That department failed to answer the phone to her, so she told me that I had to attend Qeqm A&e, she apologised for the fact that it would take many hours.
When I eventually saw an orthopaedic registrar, he looked, felt and photographed my knee, told me nothing - no diagnosis, no prognosis, no advise, no treatment. He said he would discuss my case with his consultant at the meeting the next morning, and walked away.
He did not refer me back to nurse, just left me. I asked him what would happen next and he advised me I would get a text, message or email after that meeting. So far , 6 days later, I have received nothing. My condition continues, I can’t get to see my Gp for 2 weeks and their reception suggests that I go to …… A&e who clearly can’t do anything for me.
The record on my NHS app makes no reference to my visit to Qeqm, so I can’t refer to that to see whether there are are helpful notes on that which might help me.
The entire experience was disgraceful.
