My child attends CAMHS in addition to another Trust service.
They have been attending for several years.
My other child is also attending CAMHS.
This department is aware that I am a working single parent.
The department is fully aware of the difficulties that my children experience and how this has presented at home. They are aware of the stress I am under.
It is very disheartening to note that my child's practitioners in CAMHS and in the Autism Team never ask how I am; given they know the aggression and hostility I experience. I find this quite unbelievable as I am responsible for their welfare and creating a warm, safe and supportive environment.
When I ask questions or try to relay my point of view or experience I feel I am talked over, not allowed to finish and the question is rarely answered directly.
I am not only a parent but a carer and compassion, concern and understanding would make a big difference if demonstrated.
It always seems that they can't wait for the appointment to end and are disinterested and unconcerned to hear my point of view.
"Disinterested and unconcerned"
