I have had great care throughout my experience with the nurses and health visitors within the team of NHS North Lanarkshire.
One concern was raised, that only 1 nurse was giving immunisations, meanwhile it should be 2. The nurse was extremely professional and apologetic that it was just herself delivering the care, as she was also aware this was incorrect care. The NHS is under full stress and lack of nursing staff, but the nurses are being made to do more than their job capacity and this should be rethought of via NHS Lanarkshire.
My 2nd is about the Breastfeeding Clinic weekly weigh ins. As a mum who tried breastfeeding and was unsuccessful for many reasons, started with combination feeding and now has continues fully formula feeding, I think it is wrong that you are only able to attend the “Breastfeeding Clinic” if you are a “Breastfeeding” mum. I would love to have my baby weighed regularly as drop in service, and talk to a Health Visitor/nurse professional more often than the monthly check ins at the house.
