Anything else?
I was unfortunate to break my wrist in June 2013. An ambulance delivered me to L & D where I was treated quickly. The wrist break was not straightforward and I was in a lot of pain for a week. It was then decided I needed a plate. The op was done but I then had a lot of tingling and numbness. I then underwent a carpal tunnel op. The anaesthetic was not sufficient and I experienced a lot of pain during surgery. My BP was very high and set off the alarms. The tingling has now gone but I still have stiffness and mobility problems. I waited 2.5 hours in the clinic today to see a registrar for my follow up appt. He knew nothing about me. A person who had a later appt was seen before me. Not happy. If I had been a few minutes late for my appointment I might have been reprimanded and not been seen, but it seems it is ok to keep me waiting for 2.5 hours. If you ran a business outside the hospital you would be out of business. There must be a better way of reducing the time a patient has to wait and reduce the cost of car park. Mine was £6 instead of £3. Would you like to reimburse me for that? The last time I visited the fracture Clinic, my appt had not been recorded and I waited 4.5 hours. This is not acceptable. It is disrespectful to patients to keep them waiting for so long. We have lives too and some of your staff do not have a desire to get patients moving in and out quickly.
