My GP recently sent me to Daisy Hill Hospital as she thought I may be developing Sepsis.
I went to A&E and was seen by Emmanuel, who was lovely and put my mind at ease. I spent my first night in the corridor on a recliner chair and the staff couldn’t do enough to make me more comfortable.
Next day I was moved to female medical and greeted by Susan and Kim and Danielle was lovely too. Susan was just the best and her bedside manner is impeccable.
I also had dealings with a wee Dr assistant called Tom, he was brilliant too and kept me in craic whilst explaining exactly what was happening to me.
Linda, who is a care assistant, was amazing too and brilliant with elderly patients helping to wash and feed them.
I got moved to elective surgery ward and again the team are amazing, from nurses to care assistants.
It’s been 23 years since I’ve been in hospital and I was very ill and thought I was dying, I have to say that the care I’ve received in Daisy Hill is second to none.
Well done team, you’re a Godsend. Your respect, care and dignity shown to me and others, well there are no words fitting. I’d like to add whilst I don’t know his name my consultant was friendly, thorough and kept me informed of my progress and treatment plan which is very comforting when you’re ill and frightened. Thank you
