Admission to hospital after worst flare up of my ulcerative colitis I’ve had in 45 years in 2022.
Admitted to ward 75 which was the best experience I’ve had to date in hospital.
As anyone with this disease will appreciate going into hospital and having to share a toilet is just your worst nightmare.
First time been in private room with own toilet.
I know that this is the main reason why people with this disease avoid hospital thus making themselves more ill by waiting until they’re in crisis as the thought of sharing a toilet is horrendous.
Since being in hospital I’ve been treated at the day care infusion suite for the last two years.
The staff here are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They’re compassionate and I feel they truly care about your struggles. SN Paula is lovely and how she remembers what you were talking about the last time I’ve no idea. She’s so good at checking in on you.
There’s a real sense that they run a smooth ship and are very friendly and like to have a laugh whilst still remaining professional.
I have to come every 4 weeks and they make the ordeal less of a trial.
I think they’ve got it just right.
Well done to them all.
