About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

So many bad news stories are posted about A&E at Hairmyres Hospital so I thought I’d try to redress the balance. 

I was what’s known as a walk-in because of problems getting an appointment with my GP so quite frankly my expectations weren’t great.

However, the timely how can I help you from a pleasant receptionist through triage, minor injuries, X-ray and back to minor injuries I was met by caring professionals making the visit so much better than expected.

I am pleased to hear that your experience was a positive one and that you found our staff to be caring and professional as you moved through triage, minor injuries, X-ray and back to minor injuries again. It is also lovely to hear that you were pleasantly welcomed by one of our receptionists. This is the level of care and experience our staff strive for.
